Day 26 

   The last day at school has come. Today I have to perform Thaidance in front of my students from elementary school and junior high school. I do the Ram Wong for them. I just think that am I really not going to meet them again. It's a bit sad that the time  go so fast. They gave me many experiences in school with Indonesian people. I just had no words to say with them how am I feeling. I do want to go back to Thailand but still missing my students and nice people here. 

     Finally we have to back home. I just want you all will not forget me and I will not forget you all for sure. 

Day 25

   We're going back Jakarta before that we go to Taman Safari Indonesia. It's a very long way trip. I'm carsick all the time. That's so bad but I feel so much better when we arrived at the safari. It is on the mountain. The weather is so good. Every thing is green and cover by the trees. 

     We drive along the way in the safari to see animals. There are many kinds of animals. They walk on the road so we can even touch them sometimes. I feel so good with that. 

After that we have some lunch together and go back. 

      Theses two days was a great memories to me. I'm only a student but they take care of me so well. Thank you for your kindness UHAMKA and all friends. 

Day 24 

     I'm so excited when my friends from UHAMKA university text me that we're going to Bandung for two days. I really have no idea about the city. The teachers said that you are going to very nice places. 

      Finally I arrived at Lempung,Bandung after 4 hours driving. First thing that I can feel right now is the weather is so good. It's cold but not too much. The city is full of mountain and tea farm and cover by the clouds. It's very beautiful place. 

       First place we go to Tangkuban perahu mountain. It's one of volcanoes in Indonesia. As I told you the weather is very nice and the view of the volcano. It hasn't no words to explain how much I feel right now. 

Now I just want to say thank you so much for this very nice trip UHAMKA. 

Day 23 

    I come back to MUMA junior high school 8 again. I have joined the classes of Ms.Cholis. The students look so excited for we being here again. Today I come back to meet 7 grade. They wanted me to perform Thaidance but I didn't prepare for it. Then they missed it. 

     Every time I'm here I feel so good because they treat us like their friends always give me smiles and have a talk with them. Love it. 

Day 22

  Today is my first day of the teaching junior high school students. My classes are 7-8 grade. I'm so excited and nervous about my teaching. The teacher let me teach by my way. They gave me the material and I use it. It's very helpful for me because it's easy for my students to understand the lesson. 

    The classes are passing perfectly. They are so nice to me. The students that slept in the class last week they give me an attention very well. They asked me if they don't understand and answer every question I asked. 

That's so amazing. Love it. 

Day 19 

Today I'm in the elementary school with my students 3 and 4 grade for presentation about Thailand. We made it about our capital city, food, transportation, culture and arts in Thailand. The end of the the event dance (Thai dance)together with all students and teachers. We asked  them some questions and gave them some souvenir from Thailand. Today was so fun with very nice people. 

Day 17-18

    Theses days of observation in classes are leading by Ms.Cholis an English teacher. I found out that the students in each class is so different. Some are so active in the lesson but some not. There are some of them in class just sleep during a lesson I don't know why but the teacher still can cheer them up and make them more attention to the points. I think that's so challenging for teachers. 

Day 16 

    Today I went to school of Ms. Cholis MUMA 8. It's junior high school. My first impression here is the teachers are nice even though I come here just for two times. They talk and laugh to each other for me it's so cool. 

     Now I'm a bit confusing about my students of three schools. In the classroom the teacher let they ask me about Thailand and culture of us. They want me to exchange views between Thailand and Indonesia. What is the difference and what's the same. They gave me many questions about Thailand even about my life that's so funny. Love it. 

      

Day 15 

    I must say I was so afraid and excited for junior high school teaching. Today is my first day, New teachers , New students and New desk.
     I have Ms. Cholis here. She is an English teacher. I know that she doesn't want me to feel afraid so she always talks to us and make me feel more comfortable in teacher room. In our first day I just had to introduce myself to my students and let them ask about Thailand and our culture and I have to say thank you to them that makes our classes fun today. 

Day 14 

     Today we and the teacher go to Battawee's village. First time we wanted to watch some shows in the village but when we're arrived it just finished. That's so unlucky. One thing that makes today's trip so boring is because of me. I really don't feel good. I have a cold and stomachache I don't know why but that makes the trip over. I'm sorry teacher.  

Day 13

    Today I have an appointment with my friend Amelia to go to the old city in Jakarta. They take me and friend from our apartment at 8.15 because they don't want to stuck on the jam traffic. However we are still in the Jakarta traffic so we stuck again. 

   We go to Kota Tua the place where have two of museums there are the Dutch government museum and the traditional Indonesian dolls made from wood I don't remember that's so bad. The Dutch museum make me know that in the past of Indonesia they were governed by the country for a long time. Everything in the museum is real but still beautiful. Love it. 

     

Day 12

    Today is the last day in elementary school. We have a breakfast with the principal. We talk about how I feel in these two weeks teaching. I told him that I'm so appreciate for being here and the students are so nice. The teacher team takes care of us so well. 

      Actually I don't have classes today but today we have a special class. It is makeup class for female teachers. Then we join in teacher meeting. Regarding today is the last day, so we have to say something to everyone. Every time I have to say something like this I must say my  first impressions about teachers and students here. Every teacher in school is always nice to me since first day until last day. The students make me feel like I'm a real teacher. They always respect to me, never make me  feel like I'm the air in classrooms. They always have a talk with me and friend so that's why I love this school. 

Day 11

    Today we have classes until 9:25. After that I just take a rest with friend. I thought that I have to wait here until 2 p.m. and we can back home. But today no the teachers come to tell us that they are going to take us somewhere in Jakarta. I think it's going to be shopping mall. 

     When morning classes are ended up. The teachers take us to have lunch. I think it's all for today but no. They take me to Taman Mini indonesia indah- wonderful indonesian miniature. The place is like the biggest Indonesia museum. It's full of traditional things you can get a lot of knowledge here. I think it's all again but still no. 

      They're going to take us to have river side dinner and end up with shopping. It's so special to me. I don't know how to say thank you for their kindness. I'll never forget them. 

Day10 

   Today we have 4 classes in the morning. The classes are fourth grade. This is the first day we use text book. The lesson is about personality of people. First, the teacher has the students read the text on their books. Then ask them about what they read and explained. After second ended the teacher wants us to teach last two classes. I'm so nervous because I didn't prepare for teaching today. She told me to follow her in two first classes ; play game before class starts. 

     I stand in front of the room and greet them to start the lesson. The teacher help me with explanation in Indonesian so that can make it easier to me. 

Day 9 

   I got messages from my co teacher, she can't come to school today because she just got teeth surgery. She told me to wait for the principle if he wants me to go or not. The answer is yes. I'm so excited to teach without my co teacher but still feel safe because I'm not going to teach them alone. The teacher gives me anything I want and tell me everything I have to  do and what should I do if I have problems. 

     Class is starting. I get into the class with big bag and many things inside. I say Hi to them and they say it back to me that makes me feel better. They look so interested in what I'm going to teach and say. I forgot to tell you one thing that they are in third grade. So most of them may not understand English. First problem is I don't speak Indonesian. 

      My three classes today are so lovely even sometimes they're always make it loud but I can get it because they are kids. Honestly I wanted to follow the lesson plan I did yesterday but today I can't do it again with third grade. Me and friend just let them watch English videos about English alphabet and one more to make them concentrate in the lesson. That's not all of the class. When the videos is ending I have no idea what to do until the time over. Finally I found out that I should find some more videos and give them knowledge. I got some cartoons about body from YouTube playlist. I let them watch the cartoons and tell them to memorize the words in it. This way is very good for me. Then I repeat the words to them before class ends. 

      That's all about today and I have learned that if you're a teacher the problem can come to you anytime. Then you have to go on it and learn from it. 

     

Day 8

    Today is Monday!!! New classes are coming. The lesson is going to start today. We prepare all of materials to teach our students. We have a lesson plan,so that makes it easier. Today we started with fourth grade . In our class we play games together. They're always excited and happy to play even someone doesn't feel that. I think learning by playing is so useful for elementary students because if you make it too serious it's going to make the students feel not free. 

Day 7 

  I was sent texts from my friend here that she will take me to Monas in Jakarta. Monas is the nation monument of Indonesia. I went there with her family. There are 6 of us in this city tour. This is my first time out of my place. I found out that Jakarta is so big. There are a lot of important places here. 

   We arrived at Monas at 12:00 there are so many souvenir shops around the area. Today is not too hot it's great for traveling. I go inside the Monas there are many pictures and explanations for you to understand all of Indonesian history. Most of the history is about the first president of Indonesia. 

   After Monas tour, we have lunch together near the monument. That's great time for me. 

Day 6 

   Today is Saturday and we have parents meeting. In the meeting I was so excited to meet parents of my students. I was afraid of the questions that they're gonna ask me or what should I say in front of them. However it passes so fast and well. After that I went to the market I don't remember its name. I bought one Hiyab from there.  

Day 5

  I have no classes today,but I still have to come to the school to observe how the teachers teach and do in the class. In the morning we do some exercise together. Then I go ti to the class. I observe fourth grade in Math class. I found that the teacher is a good organizer. She teaches clearly and give more than one way to find out an answer to her students. That's made the students not afraid of writing on the board. The teacher give them some signals to make the class quiet. That's very useful when students are getting noisy. 

Day 4

  I started today with some Indonesian food I don't remember what in a canteen. I'm going to try something new because I have presentations about Thailand to my students that's easier to teach. I go to teachers room and wait for the time. First class is starting but everything doesn't work. The cable isn't the same with mine. I have no idea what to do while students waiting. Finally my lovely teacher partner she solves everything, now we can go on the class. We added some more information about Thailand like traditional foods, traditional elephant and traditional festivals. We explained to students how much I love Thailand. Today we dance and learn Thai language together and they take an interest in the lesson so well. That's all I want from the children. 

Day 3 

  Today I arrived at school on time 6:30. I didn't know what I was going to do in the first day. I met my teacher partner. She gave me a schedule for teaching. Then took me to my first class. "Good morning, How are you" this my first words to my students. They looked so excited and have many questions about the new guests. The teacher has introduced me to her students. Then we started the class with a simple thing "Introduction". first we teach how to introduce yourself in English. After that it's my time to teach them some Thai words. Of course they have no idea about Thai language and I thought that makes them some excited some no. After we've finished writing now it's time to dance. Of course we were going to teach them Thai dancing. I showed them twice and they did it without my demonstration. Every thing has done so well. Love it. 

Day 2

  Today I woke up at 6 a.m. I have an appointment 8 a.m.to meet Amelia for her to take us to UHAMKA before 9. First time in the university, there are kindergarten , elementary school and high school in the same area. Everything is new for me because this is my first time in school and I am so excited to do like meeting with the dean of the university and staffs. First time I see the dean she's very kind lady. Everyone here is take care of us with kindness. 
We have talk about our flights to Jakarta , school and what are we going to do during this one month. 

   All afternoon in the day, they show me around the school in every class room. We've introduce ourselves to all of student in each class like where are we from and what are we going to do in Indonesia. One thing that I have learn in this school is their English is pretty good. They can give me questions what they want to know. They have a lot of energy. 

I saw what they do for respecting the older in their culture. 

Day 1

  I arrived at Jakarta on 18 July 2016. Amelia and friends took me  to the restaurant and had some traditional dinner. The taste of them are quite the same as Thai food. 

    After the meal, they took me to my place. It's not very far from UHAMKA. It takes 5 minutes. That's all about my first day in Indonesia.
